Evening of Impressionist and Romantic Music: Piano Showcase at the Cultural Center
The State Capital Wiesbaden is hosting a special event this evening, paying tribute to the French composer Maurice Ravel, who is celebrating his 150th birthday this year. The program, issued by the Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden, consists of piano pieces from different composers, spanning the Impressionist and Romantic periods.
The event, open to the public, will take place in the State Capital Wiesbaden. The piano duo Paola De Piante Vicin and Adrian Oetiker will be presenting piano works by Claude Debussy, Frédéric Chopin, Robert Schumann, and Maurice Ravel.
Robert Schumann's works in the program bridge the gap to German Romanticism, while Maurice Ravel's "Miroirs", a major work of French Impressionism, serves as the centerpiece of the evening. The program also includes Schumann's Kinderszenen op. 15 and Abegg Variations op. 1.
In addition to the professional performances, students and pupils, under the guidance of Prof. Meining, will also be presenting piano pieces from the Impressionist and Romantic periods.
For those interested in learning more about the event, the Press Office's location is Schlossplatz 6, 65183 Wiesbaden. The State Capital Wiesbaden's website, www.wiesbaden.de, provides further information, and citizens can contact the responsible department or office for questions regarding the event.
