Event of Brightness: Night on the Radiance
Experience a magical night as Lünen, Germany, transforms into a glowing canvas for the 8th Night of Light Art. This captivating event takes place on an unspecified date, but the main highlight is scheduled for October 24, 2025.
The evening begins at the Heinz-Hilpert-Theater, where interested visitors can attend a conversation with renowned light artist Martin Pfeifle on October 22, 2025. Pfeifle's light art piece, "radial", located at Lange Straße in Lünen, was created in 2016 and is a must-see.
On October 24, the Light Art Journey starts at 6:30 PM. This enchanting tour will take visitors to Bergkamen and Unna, where they can marvel at a selection of light artworks and a temporary installation by Till Schwennbeck. The highlight of the night is the official presentation of Maja Funke's temporary light art work, "Leuchten", at the Museum Stadt Lünen at 8 PM. Funke will also speak about her work at the site of her installation.
"Leuchten" is a GPS-based light installation that invites visitors and residents to bring the light objects to forgotten, abandoned, or meaningful places. This interactive art piece adds a unique twist to the Night of Light Art experience.
The Light Art Journey continues with a visit to light artworks in Lünen and a temporary installation by Maja Funke. The journey concludes with a special treat—a screening of the award-winning film "Tracing Light - the Magic of Light", presented by Thomas Riedelsheimer, though the exact date for this screening is yet to be announced.
Admission to the conversation and film evening on October 22 and the presentation of "Leuchten" on October 24 is free, but registration is required under kltrbrlnnd. Tickets for the Light Art Journey can be purchased in advance for 20 € at the Lünen Cultural Office, Kurt-Schumacher-Straße 41 (Hansesaal), 44532 Lünen.
