Events are planned with the participation of 400 individuals on the western coast, marking the comeback of the Guernsey Mind 10k run.

The annual Guernsey Mind Investec 10K Challenge is taking place today, with over 350 participants ready to lace up their running shoes and hit the pavement for a cause that's close to many hearts.

The event, now in its eighth year, is no stranger to the support of local organisations. This year, Guernsey Athletics, The Imperial Hotel, St John, Guernsey Civil Protection, CI Coop, and Stagecoach are joining forces to support the challenge. The main sponsor for the event in 2021 is Investec, with Emily Dawson, Head of Private Banking at Investec Bank, Channel Islands, representing the sponsor.

Investec is providing not only sponsorship but also volunteers to ensure that all funds raised go to support Guernsey Mind's work within the Bailiwick. An Investec team will also be participating in the challenge.

The 10K Challenge is a key fundraiser for the mental health charity Guernsey Mind, and this year's event aims to foster connections and encourage open discussions about mental health. The theme of the event is "challenging yourself", and participants are encouraged to push their physical and mental limits in support of a worthy cause.

Amanda Hibbs, the Communications and Events Lead at Guernsey Mind, emphasises the importance of exercise for both the body and the mind. She encourages all participants to embrace the challenge and to remember that every step they take is making a difference.
