On August 26, 2025, the city of Gütersloh, Germany, is set to embark on a remarkable cultural journey as it celebrates its 200th anniversary with the event "Art Unites Europe." This event, a significant part of the city's bicentennial celebrations, "200 Years of Gütersloh," will run from September 3rd to October, and will feature a diverse group exhibition at the Galerie im Forum of the Stadthalle.

The exhibition will showcase contemporary artworks with local connections by artists from Gütersloh's partner cities: Broxtowe (UK), Châteauroux (FR), Falun (SE), and Grudziądz (PL). Among the artists representing their cities are Toby Anderton, Lesley Grand-Scrutton, and Jane Shipton from England, and Nina Edling, a long-standing member of the Falun Art Association.

In addition, SOMEART, an interdisciplinary street art artist from Poland, will also be represented. The public will have the opportunity to witness the works of Bruno Dewaele, a French photographer, as well.

The event will kick off with a public vernissage on September 2nd at 7 pm. Registration for this event is required, and interested parties should send an email to kvnrxgtrslhd. Admission to both exhibitions is free.

The "Art Unites Europe" exhibition is part of the European cultural project "C-City - Europe Lies Next Door," which aims to foster cultural exchange and collaboration among cities. In line with this, the "C-City Amateur Project" exhibition "Connecting Europe" will be on display at the Serpil Neuhaus Galerie from September to October, featuring works by amateur artists from the five partner cities.

The exhibitions offer various forms of expression, including photography, collages, and intricate prints. Visitors can expect a vibrant display of art that reflects the rich cultural heritage of Gütersloh and its partner cities. So, mark your calendars for this exciting cultural event!
