Expanded cargo operations now include Turkish Cargo and My Freighter, as per MST's new schedule.
Maastricht Aachen Airport (MST) has welcomed three new cargo flights to its weekly schedule, bolstering its position as a key logistics hub in Europe.
Uzbek airline, My Freighter, has started a new, twice-weekly Boeing 767-300 full freighter service at MST. The service transports a variety of goods, including e-commerce, automotive parts, general cargo, and flowers, from Shanghai to Maastricht via Tashkent and Almaty.
The increase in cargo volumes at MST is partly due to a series of Atlas Air charter flights. As a result, the airport has seen a 15% increase in cargo volumes compared to the same period last year.
Turkish Cargo has also returned to MST after a short absence, expanding its service with a new Boeing 777 flight added to its existing twice-weekly service. The new flight will transport flowers, vegetables, and other goods, connecting Quito, Bogota, Miami, Istanbul, the Netherlands, and back.
MST's AEO certification guarantees quick and secure customs clearance, making it an attractive destination for cargo operators. The airport's team consistently provides added value to customers through fast and flexible handling.
Dean Boljuncic, head of commercial development at Maastricht Aachen Airport, expects the upward trend in cargo volumes to continue for the rest of the year.
In addition to these developments, MST is taking steps to tackle flower freight waste with a new data-led partnership. This initiative aims to reduce waste and improve the sustainability of the airport's flower freight operations.
As MST continues to grow, it remains committed to providing flexibility and high-quality service with its one-stop-shop model and ample capacity. These new cargo flights are a testament to the airport's commitment to meeting the growing logistics needs of its customers.
