Expanded Family Assistance Hubs within our establishment
In an effort to aid parents in handling conflicts more calmly and fostering a stronger bond with their children, the Bavarian Youth Welfare Association (Bayerischer Jugendring) has launched a new family support program. This program, now available online at www.family-education.info, offers a variety of services for families, parents, grandparents, and anyone who supports children.
The program includes proven formats such as "First Aid for Children" courses, events to strengthen the parent-child bond, and relaxation units for parents. New in the program are multi-part Kess-Parent courses in cooperation with the Kolping Adult Education Association e. V., based on a democratic, relationship-oriented parenting concept.
Age-appropriate workshops convey central values such as participation, protection, and mutual respect, while thematic workshops focus on children's rights, resilience promotion, and self-confidence. The contents of the courses are practical and sustainable, also for families in challenging situations.
Family support points, which serve as contact points around family life, offering solution-oriented counseling, information, and exchange, are located in Donaustauf, Lappersdorf, Neutraubling, Nittendorf, Regenstauf, Schierling, the inter-municipal family support points Donau-Wald (Woerth a. d. Donau, Wiesent, Brennberg), and Jura (Beratzhausen, Hemau, Laaber). Every family in the district can contact the nearest support point, regardless of their place of residence.
The program is open to all caregivers, regardless of origin, lifestyle, or social situation. Many events are either barrier-free or inclusive. In addition to parent evenings, online lectures and workshops, open meetings, parent-child groups, children's courses, interactive activities, playground meetings, and shared family experiences, playground meetings, parent breakfasts, thematically specific parent meetings, and offers for specific target groups (single parents, rainbow families, parents after separation) are also included in the family support program.
The family support points are led by experienced professionals who listen, provide orientation, and, if necessary, refer to further support offers. The coordinating office for family education and family support points is located at the Regensburg County Administration.
This new family support program provides a much-needed resource for families in the Regensburg district, offering a wide range of services designed to strengthen parenting skills and self-efficacy, promote child resilience, and facilitate a stronger parent-child bond.
