Expanded green space with a new playground found on Hummelweg

In the heart of the picturesque residential area of Am Elisenpark, a vibrant transformation has taken place. The local municipality, in collaboration with a community development company, has breathed new life into the playground, making it a more inviting and safer space for children and families.

The works, carried out by Gartenprofi Wuttig Landscape Construction GbR from Usedom, were completed in approximately three months. The first noticeable change is the installation of railings and floor covering on the existing bridge, ensuring it is now traffic-safe.

To enhance the playground's aesthetic appeal, around 400 shrubs and various hedges were planted, adding a touch of greenery. Eight trees, including two larger ones, were also planted to address the common request for more shady spots. These trees not only provide much-needed shade but also contribute to the overall beauty of the playground.

A seating area with a table and several benches was installed for the comfort of parents and guardians. For those enjoying a rest, new indirect LED lighting was installed to ensure a pleasant atmosphere even in the evening hours.

The old apple tree at the entrance of the playground was preserved and integrated into the design, adding a touch of history and charm. Bike racks and trash cans were also added to the playground equipment, making it a more practical and convenient space.

The community played a significant role in the planning of the new playground. Families from the residential area participated in an online survey, providing valuable suggestions that were incorporated into the final design.

With its two entrances, the renovated playground in Am Elisenpark is now a welcoming and enjoyable space for all. It's a testament to the power of community involvement and local collaboration, creating a space that truly reflects the needs and desires of its users.
