BMW Announces 'Inspired by Goodwood' MINI Range-Toppers

BMW has revealed plans to attach the 'Inspired by Goodwood' moniker to every range-topping MINI, marking a new chapter in the MINI's luxury offerings. The MINI 'Inspired by Goodwood' is set to debut at Shanghai, and we can expect to see a variety of MINI models carrying this prestigious badge, including the MINI Countryman, MINI Coupe, and more.

The MINI 'Inspired by Goodwood' is a bespoke MINI, boasting Rolls Royce levels of kit. Initially designed based on the MINI Copper S, the MINI Goodwood features a non-vented bonnet, custom alloys, burr walnut, and cornsilk leather. The MINI Goodwood cars are put together on the Goodwood Estate, where Rolls Royce cars are also assembled, further emphasizing the luxurious nature of the MINI Goodwood.

The MINI 'Inspired by Goodwood' was initially planned to cost around £41,000, but BMW has since announced a price increase to around £50,000. This pricing reflects the high-end quality and craftsmanship associated with Rolls Royce, as 'Inspired by Goodwood' is more than just a badge - it's a statement of luxury and class.

BMW is known for milking the MINI brand for special editions and limited runs, but the MINI 'Inspired by Goodwood' is another marketing move by MINI to fill every niche for MINI it can, specifically for those wanting a MINI trimmed out like a Rolls Royce. The MINI 'Inspired by Goodwood' treatment will extend throughout the entire MINI range, making luxury accessible to a wider audience.

The MINI 'Inspired by Goodwood' treatment is similar, but less blatant, than the MINI Rolls Royce treatment. The MINI by Rolls Royce has been in development for a long time, with the first spying dating back to 2009. However, the MINI 'Inspired by Goodwood' offers a more subtle, yet still luxurious, take on the Rolls Royce-MINI collaboration.

The first MINI Goodwood Edition cars were revealed in 2012 and arrived in March of the same year. The future MINI models that will carry the "Inspired by Goodwood" designation are the exclusive John Cooper Works showcars revealed by MINI at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich. These models were developed in collaboration with a renowned lifestyle brand and are part of MINI's special presentation celebrating heritage, racing, and electric innovation.

The MINI 'Inspired by Goodwood' has already made its mark, with the first customer deliveries being spotted in Harrods' window. The MINI 'Inspired by Goodwood' is a testament to BMW's commitment to offering luxury and class in every MINI model, and we can expect to see more of these exclusive MINIs gracing the streets in the future.
