Expanded play areas at Kücknitz now available
The Hanseatic City of Lübeck is gearing up for an exciting change in its playground landscape. The renovation of the playground at "Am Wallberg" is nearing completion, with the opening set for the upcoming weekend. This marks the first of two planned new playgrounds for the neighborhood of Kücknitz this year.
The construction of the playground at "Am Wallberg" has been ongoing for approximately three months, and the results are impressive. The playground now features diverse play options such as climbing elements, swings, slides, balancing stations, and a large sandbox area, making it suitable for children of all ages, including the youngest.
In addition to the play equipment, new seating furniture and picnic areas have been added to the playground at "Am Wallberg", offering a comfortable space for parents and guardians to relax while their children play. To provide additional shade, tree and shrub plantings are planned at the playground. The grass areas at the playground will be redesigned into a surrounding hill landscape, further enhancing the playground's aesthetic appeal.
The existing playground at "Ostpreußenring" had to be closed due to safety issues and will soon undergo renovations. Construction work for the "Ostpreußenring" playground is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 11, 2023. The redesigned playground will offer new play opportunities for children aged three to six and six to 14.
