New Police Officers Sworn In at Borken-Burlo's Mariengarden Forum

On September 1st, a significant event took place at the Mariengarden forum in Borken-Burlo, as 38 new police officers were sworn in as police commissioners. The ceremony marked a new chapter in the careers of these officers, who are replacing those who have retired or moved.

Dr. Zwicker, the county administrator and head of the police department, welcomed the new recruits and emphasized the importance of their role. He wished them a successful start and advised them to always make it home safe. Leading Police Director Paul Albers echoed these sentiments, stressing the significance of values in the daily work of all employees.

The new police officers will be working at various departments within the Borken police department. They will be assigned to the patrol service, control center, special police service, and criminal police. The Borken police department performs diverse tasks as a rural area, and these new officers will play a crucial role in maintaining law and order.

During the ceremony, the new recruits learned about their new workplace. They were introduced to their colleagues, including managers, representatives, and members of the works council. Many of the new recruits live in the Borken district, which should facilitate their integration into the team.

After the ceremony, the works council invited everyone to a sausage and a drink at the Borken location. This event was organised to foster camaraderie before the new recruits start their duties.

Besides welcoming the new officers, the event also served as an opportunity to address some key issues. Leading Police Director Paul Albers emphasized the importance of combating knife crime and reducing accident rates among cyclists and e-bikers. He also advised employees to use their moral compass in their interactions with citizens.

As the new police officers begin their duties, they can be assured of the support and guidance of their colleagues and superiors. The Borken police department looks forward to the contributions these new officers will make in maintaining a safe and secure community.
