Expanded Resort Capacity in Las Vegas as New $206 Million Tower Debuts in December
The M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas is undergoing a significant transformation, with a $206 million upgrade that includes the construction of a second hotel tower, adding 765 rooms and doubling the resort's previous room capacity. This expansion is part of a four-phase expansion plan by Penn National Gaming, with the M Resort being the second project.
The M Resort is positioning itself as a premier destination for visitors and convention attendees. According to George, Penn National Gaming's Executive Vice President of Operations, the upgrade aims to address the strong demand from the Henderson locals market and offer much-needed additional room capacity for business groups.
The M Resort has also partnered with a group owned by celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse, marking the second location for the Meril franchise. Meril, Lagasse's signature restaurant in the Warehouse District of New Orleans, will open a new location at the M Resort. The Emeril Group, founded by the celebrity chef, will oversee the operation of the new restaurant in the new tower, which is scheduled to open on December 1, 2025, along with the upgraded M Resort Spa Casino.
In addition to the new hotel tower and Meril restaurant, the M Resort's meeting space will increase with a new 15,000 sq-ft ballroom. This expansion is expected to create 120 new jobs, contributing to the local economy.
The M Resort is also hosting the NFL franchise as its official team hotel, further solidifying its position as a popular destination. The resort's partnership with the Raiders has been highly successful, according to George. The tower expansion groundbreaking event featured heavy Las Vegas Raiders branding, reflecting the strong partnership.
Penn National Gaming has recently opened the Hollywood Casino Joliet in Illinois and has upcoming projects in Aurora, Illinois, and Columbus, Ohio. The M Resort tower expansion is the second of these four major expansions, with Joilet being the first.
The Grand Opening of the upgraded M Resort Spa Casino is scheduled for December 1, making it an exciting time for both the resort and the Las Vegas community. With its expanded room capacity, new dining options, and increased meeting space, the M Resort is set to welcome more visitors and convention attendees in the future.
