The city of Gießen is gearing up for a special event, the Oktoberfest for senior citizens, which is scheduled to take place on September 13th, 2025, at the Congress Hall. The first announcement was made on August 21st, and the festivities are set to begin at 1:00 PM, with the official programme commencing at 2:00 PM.

Social Affairs Commissioner, Francisco Arman, has cordially invited Gießen residents aged 60 and above to attend this event. Tickets for the Oktoberfest can be purchased in advance, with a presale taking place from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM on September 2nd at the town hall, in front of the Women's and Equality Office (Room 120, ground floor). For those who miss the presale, additional tickets will be available for purchase at Frau Nauumann's office, Room 132, on the 2nd floor, or at the box office on the day of the event.

The Oktoberfest will feature live entertainment from Alfons Dörr, along with the bands BlechBRAND and SalzBöden. To keep the guests energised, traditional Bavarian delicacies such as pretzels and Obatzda will be served during the break, included in the entrance fee of 8.00 €.

For any questions or queries about the Oktoberfest, residents can contact the Senior Office at 0641 - 306 2062 or by email at seniorenbuero@giessen.de. The press is also invited to report on this exciting event.
