Expansion and novel domain: city shrinks to a focal point

In the heart of Berlin, a significant transformation is underway as the city embarks on a comprehensive street lighting renewal project. Here's a roundup of the latest developments:

Construction Sites Progressing

The work in Straße Auf dem Sassenhagen is scheduled to be completed by December 31st, while the neighbouring streets of Neue Mauerstraße and Johann-Jacob-Engel-Straße are expected to be finished by December 19th. These timelines provide a glimmer of hope for residents and commuters, who have been navigating the construction sites with patience.

Old Town Area Transformation

Construction work is also ongoing in various locations within the old town area, adding to the dynamic urban landscape. The specifics of these sites are yet to be disclosed, but the city's commitment to modernising its infrastructure is evident.

Renewal Plans for Dammer Weg and Apfelbaumweg

This year, the street lighting in Dammer Weg and Apfelbaumweg will undergo a much-needed revamp. However, there is currently no information available regarding the extension of the construction site on Dammer Weg.

Progress in Other Areas

The laying of electrical lines has already begun in Auf den Hufenstücken and Am Barschseemoor. Meanwhile, street lights in the area of Pestalozziweg have been replaced since late August.

Long-term Construction on St.-Marien-Straße

Construction will continue on St.-Marien-Straße, near the church, until at least October 30th, 2025. This extensive project underscores the city's commitment to improving the city's infrastructure, although it may cause some temporary inconvenience for residents and visitors.

Sidewalk Construction Barriers

As a reminder, the barriers for the sidewalk construction will remain in place until at least Friday. Pedestrians are advised to exercise caution and follow the designated detour routes.

As the city of Berlin continues to modernise its street lighting, residents and visitors can look forward to a brighter, more efficient, and safer cityscape. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project.
