Expansion of Partnership between Atlas Air and Etihad Cargo announced

In the skies above, a strategic alliance is taking flight. Etihad Cargo, the freight and logistics division of Etihad Airways, has entered into a new long-term partnership with Atlas Air, a subsidiary of Atlas Air Worldwide. This renewed agreement aims to provide Etihad Cargo with dedicated capacity to capture new growth opportunities in the ever-expanding air cargo market.

At the helm of Etihad Airways is Stanislas Brun, the current Chief Cargo Officer. His focus is on sustainable performance through premium products, agile network planning, and strategic partnerships, such as the one with Atlas Air. This partnership will see Atlas Air operate a newly delivered Boeing 777 freighter on Etihad Cargo's behalf.

The Boeing 777F, capable of carrying over 100 tonnes of cargo, will begin services linking Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, and Madrid from August. These routes have been chosen to address expanding demand for air cargo services, particularly in sectors such as e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, automotive goods, and perishable products.

Stanislas Brun described the agreement as a "strategic step in scaling capacity and extending global reach." He emphasized the importance of aligning Etihad Airways' growing passenger fleet with parallel growth in freighter capacity to sustain momentum, strengthen trade lanes, and ensure reliable service worldwide.

Michael Steen, CEO of Atlas Air Worldwide, praised the renewal of ties, stating it reflects the strong value proposition and trust built with customers over time. He highlighted Atlas Air's ability to deliver tailored capacity solutions, thanks to its global scale and wide-body freighter fleet.

The deal also underscores Etihad Cargo's commitment to sustainable and efficient transport solutions across its expanding network. The Boeing 777F's strong fuel efficiency and proven reliability are key factors in this commitment.

The partnership between Atlas Air and Etihad Cargo, which began in 2012, has been renewed and deepened. This strategic step is set to strengthen Etihad Cargo's network at a time of rising global demand, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of goods across the globe.
