In the rapidly evolving world of electric vehicles (EVs), Geely, a prominent Chinese automaker, is gearing up to launch its newest offering - the Galaxy E8. This all-electric sedan coupe is expected to compete in the mid-to-high-end market segment and will be the first pure electric vehicle to be launched in the fourth quarter of this year.

The Galaxy E8, the third car in Geely's Galaxy series, follows the L7 and the soon-to-be-launched L6. Geely's new NEV (New Energy Vehicle) brand is known for producing both electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, and the Galaxy E8 is no exception. The company plans to launch seven products within the next two years, four of which belong to the hybrid L series and the other three to the pure electric E series. The Galaxy L6 is scheduled for launch in Q3 this year, with the Galaxy E8 following suit in Q4.

The Galaxy E8 boasts a sleek fastback design, featuring large wheels, frameless doors, and hidden door handles. The vehicle's aerodynamic efficiency is impressive, with a drag coefficient as low as 0.19Cd. To enhance safety and autonomous driving capabilities, the roof of the Galaxy E8 houses a hidden lidar, while high-definition cameras are integrated on both sides of the car. The vehicle is expected to support advanced assisted driving features, including obstacle avoidance and autonomous parking.

The interior of the Galaxy E8 is just as impressive as its exterior. The cockpit is expected to be equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 13.2-inch central control screen, a 16.2-inch co-pilot screen, and a 25.6-inch AR head-up display. The Galaxy E8 will also use Geely's self-developed Galaxy N OS vehicle operating system.

As for the powertrain details, these have yet to be revealed by Geely. However, more information is expected to be unveiled as the launch date approaches. The Galaxy E8 is expected to sell for around 300,000 yuan (41,000 USD), positioning it to compete with the BYD Han EV, which is priced between 219,800 - 331,800 yuan (30,300 - 46,000 USD).

Stay tuned for more updates on the Galaxy E8 as we approach its launch in Q4 this year. This promising new addition to Geely's Galaxy series is set to redefine the electric vehicle market in China and beyond.
