Visitors can reach Bannerghatta National Park from Bengaluru by road, taxi, or BMTC buses. The park is usually open from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, except on Tuesdays when it remains closed. Private vehicles are not permitted inside the safari area at Bannerghatta National Park. Safaris are conducted in government-authorised buses and jeeps.

The park's hilly topography, characterized by granite sheets covering moist valleys of deciduous forest and scrubland in higher areas, provides a picturesque backdrop for the park's many attractions. Additionally, the presence of several ancient temples within the park adds to its historical and cultural significance.
