Extended Hours for Outdoor Bathing Spots

Berlin, September 2025 - Good news for swimmers in the German capital! Thirteen indoor pools in Berlin are set to reopen the week after schools start, providing a much-needed alternative as the city's outdoor pools gradually close down.

Starting from September 15, most indoor pools will kick off their season, including those in Mitte, Lankwitz, and Neukölln. However, the pool at the Olympiastadion and the Wannsee Beach Pool will close on September 21.

The city's outdoor pools have already started their seasonal closure, with five pools having already shut their doors on Sunday. These include the Wilmersdorf, Am Insulaner, and Neukölln summer pools, the summer pool of the Kombibad Seestraße, and the Monbijou children's summer pool.

Interestingly, the Indian swimming pools in the city are scheduled to open on the weekend following the schools' return on September 15, 2025, although the specific individuals or organisations responsible for the opening are not yet clear.

As for the outdoor pools that remain open, the pools in Kreuzberg and the Kombibad Gropiusstadt will close later, at the end of September.

It's worth noting that short-term changes in the closing dates of pools are possible due to weather conditions. So, keep an eye on the forecast!

In other news, Berlin is gearing up for a series of exciting events in the coming weeks. The Love Train 2025, Meteor Shower Night 2025, Open Door Day of the Federal Government 2025, Christopher Street Day 2025, Lesbian and Gay City Festival 2025, and the Long Night of Museums 2025 are all scheduled to take place in the city.

And if you're a music lover, don't miss Tokio Hotel's upcoming event in the city!

As for the weather, from Tuesday afternoon, there is an increasing risk of thunderstorms in the west. Stay safe and enjoy your swim!
