Extending Presence Across Europe: Wavecom's Advancement

Wavecom, a leading provider of advanced connectivity solutions for transportation, has announced the launch of a new 5G system designed for large-scale deployments. The system, developed by Wavecom GmbH, is set to revolutionise the European market for transport connectivity solutions.

Led by CEO Karsten Micke, Wavecom GmbH, based in Munich, is responsible for handling and dynamizing the channel-based market across Europe. The new system offers a range of benefits, including seamless connectivity, enhanced fleet monitoring, and optimised operational processes.

At the heart of this innovation is the introduction of a new generation of 5G onboard gateways. These gateways come equipped with Dual 5G Modems, ensuring unparalleled connectivity. Moreover, the system supports up to seven additional eSIM profiles, alongside the physical SIM cards, through a feature known as Zero Touch Provisioning.

Wavecom's new orchestration web platform provides centralised management of services, making it easier for operators to oversee their operations. This platform is instrumental in the management of two comprehensive solutions: Connected BUS and Connected Rail. While the details about the development of these solutions are not publicly available, they are integral parts of Wavecom's offerings.

In addition to these solutions, Wavecom offers Digital Passenger Solutions and Digital Solutions, aiming to empower mobility operators with high-performance technology that enhances efficiency, security, and overall digital transformation.

The new 5G system from Wavecom strengthens the company's position in the transportation industry and forms part of a strategic agreement aimed at accelerating the adoption of innovative transport connectivity solutions in the European market.
