Upon declaring the departure from early access for Escape From Tarkov, the developers of the extraction shooter game have verified the imminent creation of a corresponding page on Steam.

Extraction shooter game Escape From Tarkov, having exited early access, will soon have a Steam page available for public viewing.

In an exciting development for fans of the tactical FPS game, Escape From Tarkov, Battlestate Games has announced that the game will be leaving early access and launching on Steam on November 15, 2025. This marks nearly a decade of development for the game, which was originally announced for development in 2012, the same year Star Citizen was announced.

Nikita Buyanov, the studio head at Battlestate Games, took to Twitter to share the news, posting a screenshot of the Escape From Tarkov Steam page. The tweet states that more details about the Steam release will be provided later.

For existing players, the transition to the Steam version will be smooth. Players who already own Escape From Tarkov via Battlestate Games' own launcher will be able to migrate their accounts to the Steam version. This will allow them to continue their progress without having to repurchase the game. Battlestate Games' consideration to maintain its current player base while expanding accessibility through Steam is commendable.

Players can migrate to the Steam version of Escape From Tarkov through a key. If they have to buy the game again for the Steam version, they can potentially transfer their account details. The game's Steam page shows that Battlestate Games will be self-publishing it.

Escape From Tarkov effectively pioneered the extraction shooter genre and has been playable in closed alpha for around a year before its launch into early access in 2017, two days after Fortnite. The game is known for its complex gameplay, immersive world, and high-stakes encounters.

In an effort to combat cheating, Escape From Tarkov is implementing a system to reward players with in-game currency for reporting suspected cheaters. This initiative underscores Battlestate Games' commitment to maintaining a fair and enjoyable gaming experience for all players.

The Steam release of Escape From Tarkov is an exciting milestone for the game and its community. With its unique gameplay, immersive world, and dedication to combating cheating, it's shaping up to be an unmissable addition to the Steam library. Stay tuned for more details about the Steam release in the coming weeks.
