The Clemens Sels Museum in Neuss is set to host a unique "double feature" event on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at 11:30 AM. This exciting day offers something for everyone, with a guided tour for adults and a creative workshop for children.

The guided tour, led by art mediator Melanie Seidler, focuses on the special exhibition "Fisch Land Fluss," taking visitors on a journey through the fishing history of the Niederrhein region. The 60-minute tour costs just €4, and admission to the museum is free on the first Sunday of every month.

Meanwhile, children aged six and up are invited to join the "Cast off and tie the ropes!" creative workshop. Led by archaeologist Jost Auler, this interactive session teaches children how to tie fisherman and sailor knots. The workshop costs €4 per child, with an additional €2 for materials.

It's important to note that registration is required for all activities and can be done by calling 02131-904141.

The event is part of the Clemens Sels Museum's commitment to providing in-depth information about social developments, culinary arts, art, and culture in Neuss. Subscribing to the museum's free newsletter is a great way to stay up-to-date with these topics.

Fish has been an ancient food source for humans, and rivers and lakes provided abundant food in past centuries. However, the Rhine and Erft rivers, once rich in fish, have seen a decline due to pollution from industrialization.

The museum's newsletter is not spam and provides valuable insights into these issues. To learn more about the newsletter's privacy policy, visit their website.

Don't miss this opportunity to explore the fascinating history of fishing in the Niederrhein region and learn some new skills at the same time. We look forward to seeing you at the Clemens Sels Museum on June 4!
