Family members question the suspicious death of a mariner in Kamchatka

In the maritime city of Vladivostok, the family and girlfriend of Anton Khromov, a 29-year-old sailor, are demanding answers and justice following his mysterious disappearance from the fishing vessel, "Amphitrite," owned by LLC "Rosrybolovstvo."

On December 8, at 11:50, Anton was last seen on the vessel. His loved ones received alarming messages in the days leading up to the incident, with Anton expressing fears of being bullied by crew members and a possible threat of being thrown overboard. However, his last message did not mention any names, insisting that the captain and the entire crew were aware of the situation.

Anton openly spoke about his problems and fears before the tragedy. Despite his concerns, he assured his girlfriend, Olga Glushak, that everything would be sorted out and asked her not to worry as he would soon receive a large salary. However, his mental state seemed to deteriorate a week before the incident, with Anton becoming thoughtful and depressed.

Olga visited Anton in Vladivostok during the crew change on November 29 to December 1 and brought him winter clothes. They spent two peaceful days together, but Anton's behaviour started to change after November 25, when he became pensive and downcast.

Cameras captured Anton exiting onto the deck, followed by another sailor, but the moment of the tragedy was not recorded. The body of Anton was never found, and no funeral was held.

Olga and Anton's parents claim that he was mentally healthy just a few days before the tragedy. They, along with Olga, have reached out to various institutions, including the prosecutor's office, the Investigative Committee, and the state labor inspection, but received refusals to initiate a criminal case.

In a shocking turn of events, Olga implicated Captain Igor Belov and First Mate Viktor Sidorov from the Amphitrite crew in connection with the events surrounding Anton's death. The employer, LLC "Rosrybolovstvo," has yet to react to Anton's death, with no condolences or help offered to the family.

An investigation is currently being conducted by LLC "Rosrybolovstvo," based in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The vessel set sail for fishing from Vladivostok at the beginning of December. Anton had been sailing the seas for eight years on different ships before joining the Amphitrite.

Anton's loved ones refuse to believe the version of suicide and are demanding a thorough investigation into the incident. They hope that the truth will be uncovered and justice will be served for Anton.
