In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Tollywood star Allu Arjun and his family bid farewell to their beloved grandmother, Allu Kanakaratnam, on September 8 in Hyderabad. The funeral service was organized by the family, with close friends and family members in attendance, including Ram Charan, Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi, and Allu Sirish, among others.

Geetha Arts, the production house known for its close ties with the Allu family, shared pictures from the gathering, expressing their condolences and appreciation for the spirit, kindness, and love that Allu Kanakaratnam embodied. Allu Arjun also took to social media to post a heartfelt note, expressing gratitude for the love, prayers, and condolences received by his family.

In a separate post, Allu Arjun expressed his appreciation to Pawan Kalyan and Venkaiah Naidu for their support during this difficult time. The actor's emotional message was a testament to the strong bonds he shared with his loved ones and the wider Tollywood community.

Amidst the mourning, the Allu and Konidela families observed Allu Kanakaratnam's Pedda Karma, a traditional ceremony held to honour the deceased. Geetha Arts posted tributes on this occasion, expressing a sense of Allu Kanakaratnam's presence and remembering her love, wisdom, and the values she instilled.

Meanwhile, the SIIMA Awards 2025 took place, and Allu Arjun and his co-star Rashmika Mandanna bagged the top acting honours in the Telugu category. The complete list of Telugu and Kannada winners was announced, with the event celebrating the best of South Indian cinema.

In a poignant coincidence, Allu Kanakaratnam's Pedda Karma was observed on the same day as the SIIMA Awards, serving as a reminder of the cyclical nature of life and the enduring legacy of a beloved matriarch. Despite the sorrow, the Allu family and their extended Tollywood family continued to celebrate their achievements and honour their cherished memories.
