Farewell, Temporarily, from Equestrian Broadcasts
In January 2021, the "Equestrian Voices" podcast was launched with a mission to bring diverse, expert points of view to discuss various equestrian topics. Over the past two years, the podcast has become a beloved resource for amateur equestrians, offering insightful discussions on a wide range of subjects, from student-trainer relationships to horse welfare.
One of the podcast's most devoted fans is Heather Donovan, who found the show and took Natalie Hummel's course, which significantly improved her riding. Heather expresses her gratitude for the episodes that will remain, allowing her to re-listen again and again. She also appreciates host Caroline Culbertson's ability to get to the heart of what amateur equestrians really want and need to hear.
Caroline, who aimed to create a space for open and honest discussions, has certainly achieved that goal. Sophie Coffey, who served as Podcast assistant for one year and joined the NOEΜLLE FLOYD team full time in 2023, discovered the podcast in 2021 and found it to be unique and honest, changing her outlook on horses.
The podcast's topics ranged from flying lead changes to saddle fit, and it was known for its well-done interviews and innovative ideas. Alissa Porter, an R+ dog trainer, was particularly impressed with Tik Maynard's attendance at Chicken Clicker Camp as a means to incorporate play into horsemanship.
Listeners have also appreciated the podcast's empathetic approach and open-minded discussions. Kendra Crossman, for instance, found the episodes on processing grief particularly helpful in coping with the loss of her horse. Heather Ann James enjoys listening to the podcast during her young hunter's training days, often pausing, writing down, and re-winding to discuss with her trainer after her ride.
Sadly, the podcast has been announced as ending. Heather Donovan, along with many others, is sad to hear this news. However, the impact of "Equestrian Voices" will undoubtedly continue to resonate in the equestrian community for years to come.
As Sophie Coffey moves on to her new role with NOEΜLLE FLOYD, the podcast team member who joined the team in 2023 remains unspecified. Regardless, the legacy of "Equestrian Voices" will live on, inspiring and educating equestrians everywhere. Rys Richardson, another listener, sums it up perfectly: "The podcast was a breath of fresh air in the equestrian world, and I'm grateful for the time I spent listening."
