Farming Enterprises Qualified for Financing Opportunities Worth up to $100,000
In various parts of the country, local authorities and non-profit organizations are providing relief and support to small businesses struggling due to the pandemic and natural disasters.
Charlotte, North Carolina
The nonprofit organization, University City Partners, received a $237,500 pandemic relief grant from the city of Charlotte in 2021. This grant will be used to build a database of local businesses and survey them to provide resources more effectively over the next year.
Erie County, New York
Over a two-year period, Erie County is investing $15 million in its Storefront Revitalization grant program. This program offers funding for various facade improvements to local small businesses. The Department of Environment and Planning administers this program.
Buffalo, New York
Business owners in Buffalo can apply for grants through the Small Business Assistance Grants program. To be eligible, the owner must live in one of Buffalo's nine council districts, and the business must be located within Buffalo.
California
Small agricultural businesses in California can apply for grant funding to help with financial losses due to severe drought and/or flooding. The deadline for applications is December 1. Funds can be used for e-commerce, consultant services, and facade improvements.
Virginia
The Virginia Statewide Business District Resurgence Grant program aims to support businesses located in downtown districts or neighboring areas. Funds can be used for e-commerce, consultant services, and facade improvements. Businesses can apply for grants of up to $100,000.
Tehachapi, California
Tehachapi is currently running a Sign Grant Program to help small businesses improve their storefronts. The program is open to business owners with 50 or fewer full-time employees.
Waynesboro, Virginia
Waynesboro recently received a $100,000 grant from the state for the Virginia Statewide Business District Resurgence Grant program.
Drought and Flood Relief Grants
In addition to these programs, funds are also allocated to help small and socially disadvantaged farmers, as well as small agricultural businesses that have been most impacted by severe drought (Drought Group 1) or flooding (Flood Group 1) across the state. Eligible businesses can apply for reimbursement funds that cover up to half of the project cost.
