Fashion label Jacquemus unveils plans for its inaugural beauty collection, piquing curiosity about its aesthetic.

In an exciting development for the fashion world, Jacquemus, the independent French luxury brand known for its Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic, has announced plans to expand into the beauty sector. The news comes as the brand partners with L'Oréal luxe to create a range of beauty products, set to be officially available starting in September 2025.

Founder Simon Porte Jacquemus has revealed that beauty and perfume were part of his vision for the brand since its inception in 2009. Having grown up in Salon-de-Provence, the brand's roots are deeply entwined with the French Mediterranean, a fact that is reflected in its designs.

The Mini Chiquito bag, a cult accessory for the brand, may be designed to hold beauty products, adding a practical element to the brand's already coveted offerings. Predictions for the Jacquemus beauty line include a Jacquemus-branded lipstick and a lavender-scented fragrance, given the brand's association with Provence.

This marks the first time Jacquemus is exploring the beauty arena, following in the footsteps of other fashion powerhouses. Prada launched a range of make-up products in 2023, while Celine and Miu Miu have announced plans to branch out into beauty later in 2025.

The announcement comes after Matthieu Blazy, who was creative director at Bottega Veneta, left the Italian leather house for the top position at Chanel. Louise Trotter succeeded Blazy at Bottega Veneta, with the brand putting out a perfume collection in a previous year.

The Jacquemus S/S 2020 show, set in a Provencal lavender field, saw models walk a runway made from over 5,000 ft of cerise pink fabric. Images from the show swiftly went viral, further cementing the brand's popularity.

Cyril Chapuy, president of L'Oréal luxe, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that Jacquemus' unique vision and values align perfectly with L'Oréal's mission to empower beauty. As the launch date approaches, fans of the brand can look forward to a new dimension of Jacquemus products.
