The UK's transportation sector is gearing up for the fourth annual CiTTi Awards, set to take place on 25th November 2025 at the prestigious De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London. This unmissable event will celebrate achievements and innovations in sustainable transport planning, attracting industry leaders and enthusiasts alike.

One such innovation is the installation of EV charging bays across various locations, including Blackburn, operated by Be.EV. These charging bays, funded by Gridserve to the tune of £223,000, are equipped with two ultra-rapid charging bays, each boasting a capacity of 150kW. Drivers can get up to 80% charge in just 20 minutes at these bays.

The new charging site, located ten minutes from the M65, is expected to be beneficial for local residents and drivers on longer journeys. AAAZ Investments, the site owners, have prioritized EV charging at their sites and have partnered with Be.EV for their EV charging infrastructure. This partnership is expected to increase rental yield for AAAZ Investments by approximately £4,000 annually.

Elsewhere, Lancashire County Council projects that more than 6,600 chargepoints will be required to support 240,000 EVs on its roads by 2030. This ambitious plan underscores the growing importance of EV charging infrastructure in the UK.
