Fast-Scoring Teenagi Davina Perrin: The Women's The Hundred's Notable Breakout
In a spectacular display of power and precision, 18-year-old Davina Perrin shone brightly for Northern Superchargers in their Women's Hundred match against London Spirit.
Perrin, who made her county debut for Staffordshire in 2021, showcased her prowess with a blistering century off just 43 balls. This remarkable performance not only set a new record for the fastest century in women's Hundred history but also placed her one ball shy of the overall fastest century record, held by Harry Brook.
With her score of 101 runs, Perrin became the youngest centurion in England's Women's One Day Cup, surpassing her own record set in July 2025 when she was 18 years and 325 days old. Her performance also earned her the title of the highest individual score in the Women's Hundred competition.
The Superchargers posted a formidable total of 214/5, a new record for the highest total in women's Hundred, thanks in part to contributions from Phoebe Litchfield (35 runs) and Nicola Carey (31 not out).
London Spirit, the reigning champions, found the going tough against Perrin's onslaught and were sent crashing out of the competition as they failed to threaten the chase, ending their innings well short of the target.
Perrin's impressive form continued in the Women's Twenty20 Cup of 2021, where she was the fourth-highest run-scorer with 242 runs. She demonstrated her versatility with a crucial 87 from 75 balls to help Staffordshire beat Berkshire in the Women's Twenty20 Cup.
Perrin's journey in professional cricket began in Canada, where she gained attention for her performances in youth cricket tournaments. She was picked up in The Hundred draft at 15 but didn't play a match for Birmingham Phoenix in 2022. However, her hard work and determination paid off when she secured her first professional contract with Central Sparks at the end of the 2022 season.
Now, as the Women's Hundred final approaches, Perrin aims to lead Northern Superchargers to the title. She will face Southern Brave at Lord's, a stage she is undoubtedly ready to conquer. As the youngest Black female professional cricketer in the UK, Perrin is not just breaking records; she is also inspiring a new generation of cricketers.
