In the small town of Wernau, Esslingen district, a chlorine leak incident occurred at the local public swimming pool on Saturday morning. The incident, which took place from an operating room not accessible to the public, prompted a large-scale response from emergency services.

The responsible authority for the safety of the swimming pool during emergencies is primarily the local fire department, as evidenced by their intervention during the Neckartal swimming pool chlorine gas leak incident in Wernau. The police also provided support, working in cooperation with municipal institutions to manage the incident.

Only six city employees were on site at the time of the leak, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. In response to the incident, the pool was closed for approximately two hours for inspections.

The response to the incident was significant, with 85 firefighters and 15 emergency service personnel deployed to the scene. The road leading to the pool was also closed by the police.

Despite the alarming nature of the incident, the police assured the public that the leak posed no danger. After the pool passed inspections, it was reopened around midday, and the road was also reopened to traffic.

The cause of the leak was a defect while switching a gas cylinder, specifically due to a faulty adapter. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of regular safety checks and maintenance in public facilities.
