FC National potentially forfeits match against FC Porto at Estádio do Dragão

CD Nacional finds itself in a difficult situation ahead of their upcoming match against FC Porto, scheduled for this Saturday, the 13th. The game, originally set for a date other than the 13th, has been rescheduled due to scheduling conflicts, and the match time has been set to 4 p.m. to accommodate broadcasting and logistical considerations.

The Portuguese Football Federation made the decision to move the match from Sunday to Saturday, but CD Nacional's travel arrangements for the new date conflict with their previously booked travel. The Madeiran club has made several attempts to reschedule their travel with airline TAP Portugal, but have not received a viable and suitable alternative yet.

In response to the situation, CD Nacional bought tickets for Saturday morning for their away match against FC Porto. However, their travel arrangements for their away matches are still based on the official dates of each round, causing conflicts with the new match date.

CD Nacional's statement does not mention any change in their readiness to play the match at all. The club's readiness to play the round on Sunday, the 14th, at the Dragão Stadium, as previously scheduled, was reiterated in their statement.

Despite the challenges, the Liga Portugal decided on September 1st to change the match between CD Nacional and FC Porto to Saturday at 6 PM. The decision to reschedule the match was made to avoid clashing with other matches in the league.

The match between FC Porto and CD Nacional is at risk of not taking place if a suitable travel solution is not found for the Madeiran club. The club has warned Liga Portugal about their inability to reschedule their travels for the new match date, and CD Nacional is considering not showing up for the match.

As the situation continues to unfold, fans and football enthusiasts wait with bated breath to see if the match between two of Portugal's top clubs will indeed take place as scheduled.
