Federal Police Arrest Three Wanted Individuals at Düsseldorf Airport

On Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025, the Federal Police at Düsseldorf Airport made a significant arrest. A 27-year-old Syrian, who was a passenger on a flight from Beirut/Lebanon, was taken into custody during border police entry controls.

The Syrian was wanted by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Braunschweig since May 2025 for fraud in two cases. The nature of the fraud charges, however, was not specified. The location of the Public Prosecutor's Office in Braunschweig where the Syrian was wanted was also not disclosed.

This arrest was part of a larger operation, as the Federal Police also apprehended two other wanted individuals during the same entry controls. The details of the arrests of these two travelers were not specified.

One of the individuals was a 43-year-old German resident of the Osnabrück district. He is wanted by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Bielefeld for a violation of the Ordnungswidrigkeitengesetz. In July this year, a detention order was issued for him, but he avoided it by paying a fine of 50 euros on the spot during a police check when entering Germany from Pristina/Kosovo.

The other individual was a 35-year-old German woman, wanted by the Local Court of Lübeck since August of this year for suspected theft. She was properly summoned for the main hearing but did not appear, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant. In May 2023, she was convicted for forgery of evidence, and in January 2024, the Public Prosecutor's Office in Lübeck issued an enforcement order for asset seizure of approximately 800 euros against her.
