Federal authorities carried out two warranted arrests, as ordered by BPOLI MD.

In a recent development, a 23-year-old Afghan man was arrested by the Federal Police officers at Magdeburg Central Station on August 20, 2025, at 12:45 PM. The man had two active arrest warrants issued by the public prosecutors' offices in Stendal and Magdeburg.

The arrest warrants were issued in July 2025, following the man's failure to serve a sentence handed down by the District Court of Burg in November 2024. The court had sentenced him to a fine of 450 euros or 30 days of imprisonment for threats.

Despite the sentence, the man did not comply and went into hiding, leading to the issuance of the arrest warrants. The man was also found guilty of fraudulently obtaining benefits in May 2025, for which he was sentenced to a fine of 75 euros or five days of imprisonment.

Upon his arrest, the man was taken into custody by the Federal Police officers. However, due to his inability to pay the total outstanding amount of 510 euros, he was taken to a detention facility to serve the remaining 17 days of his imprisonment.

The news about the 23-year-old Afghan man's arrest was transmitted by the Federal Police Inspection Magdeburg. For further questions, the Federal Police Inspection Magdeburg can be contacted at +49 (0) 391-56549-505, via email at [email protected], or on Twitter at @bpol_pir.

The Federal Police officers served the arrest warrants to the man and informed the issuing authorities about the execution of both arrest warrants. This arrest marks a significant step in ensuring justice is served and maintaining public safety.
