In a significant development, a 39-year-old Syrian man was taken into custody by the Federal Police in Aachen last Thursday evening. The man was traveling without a ticket or identification documents on an international train from Brussels via Aachen towards Cologne.

Upon arrival, a routine identity check at the Federal Police station in Aachen revealed that the Syrian is in Germany without a valid residence status. This discovery was of particular concern as the Public Prosecutor's Office in Freiburg was actively seeking the Syrian with four arrest warrants for dangerous bodily harm, property damage, attempted dangerous bodily harm, and illegal residence.

Further investigations also uncovered that the District Court in Freiburg im Breisgau was looking for the Syrian for sexual assault, coercion, and rape. Additionally, the Public Prosecutor's Office in Freiburg im Breisgau was investigating the Syrian for housebreaking.

A fingerprint check at the Federal Police station in Aachen revealed seven wanted notices, including several arrest warrants for enforcement of sentences. As a result, the Syrian faced imprisonment of more than 130 days.

The total fine for the Syrian, including court costs, exceeded 3,100.00 euros, a sum he was unable to pay. Consequently, he was arrested.
