Federal Law Enforcement in Dresden pursues refugees, subsequently providing them shelter at the city's central station
In an eventful evening on August 19, 2025, the Federal Police Inspectorate Dresden made several arrests at the city's main train station. The information was released by the Federal Police Inspectorate Dresden and reported by news aktuell.
The first arrest was made at around 10:45 PM, when a 44-year-old man was apprehended on the international arrival train Euro City (Prague - Dresden). The man had an arrest warrant issued by the Dresden District Court for suspected theft and arson.
A few hours earlier, at approximately 7:00 PM, the Federal Police Inspectorate Dresden checked two individuals in front of the main station. During the search, two arrest warrants were found for a 24-year-old Albanian. One warrant was issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office Leipzig for armed theft, and the other by the Public Prosecutor's Office Chemnitz for theft, with a total claim of 2,320 euros. The Albanian national fled on foot through the main station but was later apprehended and arrested.
The Albanian's employer paid all three arrest warrants amounting to 2,770 euros. The Slovak ID card presented by the man was also seized and confiscated. During a search of the man, a small packet containing a white substance, suspected to be crystal, was found.
Meanwhile, a 37-year-old Romanian was found to have an arrest warrant for fraud with a fine of 450 euros. The Romanian had a clip packet with 1.6 grams of cocaine attributed to him.
In a separate incident, a 39-year-old German national appeared at the Federal Police Station in Dresden's main station and stated he was wanted by the police. The German national had an arrest warrant issued by the Dresden District Court for suspected theft and arson. The German national was arrested in the early morning hours of August 20, 2025, at 3:00 AM.

It is worth noting that the Albanian national was deported to Albania in April 2025 and was found to be staying illegally in Germany. The man with the arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Bad Kreuznach for driving under the influence was not mentioned in the earlier facts.
