Federal law enforcement officer handling escapes effectively during work commuting

On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 12:30 PM, a 37-year-old male was apprehended in Halberstadt following a theft in a local grocery store. A federal police officer, on his way to work, was alerted to the incident and gave chase to the thief on foot.
The suspect attempted to resist arrest, kicking and struggling, and even struck the officer with his carried rucksack. However, with the assistance of a group of bystanders, the officer was able to bring the suspect to the ground and restrain him.
