Federal law enforcement officials report that a 29-year-old individual has gone on the lam, evading capture by the federal police.

In an unexpected incident on August 20, 2025, a 29-year-old Afghan national was apprehended at the main station in Halle (Saale). The incident unfolded when the man refused to leave a train at the station, leading to a confrontation with responding officers.

Upon seeing the officers, the man fled through the station, across the tracks, and into an Intercity Express. During his escape, he dropped a knife, which was recovered by the officers. The suspect also kicked towards two officers and resisted the police action, attempting to strike and insult railway employees during the removal process.

The suspect was taken to the nearby station for positive identification, and the Federal Police Station in Halle (Saale) was notified to establish his identity. The Federal Police Inspectorate Magdeburg, which can be contacted for further inquiries, has confirmed that the suspect faces charges including violations of the Criminal Code, the Weapons Act, and the Railway Construction and Operating Regulations.
