In the quiet town of Pasewalk, Germany, the Federal Police Directorate has been making headlines recently due to several high-profile arrests.

Last night, at around midnight, a 42-year-old Pole was stopped as the driver of a SEAT Leon with a Polish license plate. An investigative check revealed a warrant for his arrest issued by the STA Hannover for violating probation conditions. He is currently on his way to Hannover to be presented to the competent court by the local colleagues.

This incident took place at the Pomellen checkpoint, a joint operation by the Federal Police units in Flensburg, Kiel, Rostock, Stralsund, and Pasewalk, which belong to the Federal Police Inspection Pasewalk. The Directorate, a federal authority, employs approximately 2,600 employees and operates in Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and the North and Baltic Seas.

Around 02:30, two travelers were stopped as passengers in a Flixbus. A 40-year-old Lithuanian had a detention order for the offense of serious theft, and he will be presented to the competent court for further proceedings. A 58-year-old Pole was arrested for the offense of theft by the STA Mannheim. He was unable to pay the required fines of 900 EUR and 77.50 EUR in costs and was taken to Neustrelitz Prison.

The Federal Police Directorate's tasks are based on the Federal Police Act and other laws. They perform border police, railway police, and environmental police tasks in the North and Baltic Seas. The Directorate also has a maritime component called "Federal Police Sea" with inspections in Neustadt in Holstein, Warnemuende, and Cuxhaven.

On Monday at around 15:20, a 34-year-old Lebanese man was stopped by the Bundespolizei in Pasewalk. The investigative check revealed a warrant for his arrest issued by the STA Berlin for bodily injury. He was fined 1,320.00 euros, 10.00 euros in cash, and 415.50 euros in costs. Failure to pay would result in 88 days of imprisonment, but he paid the total amount of 1,745.50 euros and was allowed to continue his journey towards Berlin.
