Polish National Arrested at German Border for Drug Trafficking
On September 4, 2025, a 26-year-old Polish national was stopped at the Nieler StraΓe border crossing in Kleve-Keeken, Germany. The individual was traveling with a car registered in Poland, entering the federal territory from the Netherlands.
During the check, it was discovered that the man did not possess a valid driver's license in accordance with the central driving license register for foreign EU driving licenses. Despite this, he presented a valid Polish identity card for inspection.
However, a closer examination of the vehicle revealed a clip-seal bag containing a small amount of marijuana. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered five vacuum-sealed bags containing approximately 2.4 kg of marijuana in the trunk. The street value of the drugs is estimated to be 24,000 euros.
Following the police measures at the station, the Customs Investigation Office in Essen took over the further investigation. The man was provisionally arrested and taken to the Federal Police Inspectorate Kleve for further processing.
