In a shocking turn of events, Erin Patterson, an Australian woman, has been found guilty of killing three people and attempting to kill a fourth. The tragic incident unfolded at a dinner party on a fateful day in July 2023.

The investigation revealed that Erin had collected poisonous mushrooms, known as death caps, in the forest a few months before the fatal dinner. She ground these deadly caps and mixed them with store-bought mushrooms, unbeknownst to her guests. The Beef Wellington, a dish prepared by Erin, was the main course at the dinner.

All four guests, including Simon Patterson's parents, Gail Patterson, Heather Wilkinson, and Ian Wilkinson, consumed the Beef Wellington during the dinner. The next day, they were hospitalized with symptoms of poisoning. Tragically, three of the guests did not survive.

Erin, however, was diagnosed with symptoms of poisoning but refused hospitalization. Her children also suffered from mild food poisoning.

In the weeks following the dinner, Erin reset her mobile phone to factory settings three times. This unusual behaviour raised suspicions, leading to a deeper investigation.

The investigation found that Erin had omitted mustard and prosciutto from the Beef Wellington recipe due to Don Patterson's dietary restrictions. She also lied about having cancer as a means to gain sympathy from her husband's relatives.

Interestingly, eight months before the dinner, Erin had posted on social media expressing frustration with her husband's family and calling them "hopeless."

Despite the charges of attempting to kill Simon Patterson, they were dropped before trial. However, Erin was found guilty of the murders and sentenced by the Australian High Court. As of September 8, there are no available search results providing information on the sentence given to Erin Patterson.

This case serves as a grim reminder of the dangers of poison and the importance of truth and empathy in our relationships.
