Fire Breaks Out in a Multiple-Unit Residential Building in Hannover, Kitchen Being the Origin

In the heart of Hannover's Bothfeld district, a fire broke out in a multi-family dwelling on Tollenbrink Straße. The incident, reported via the emergency number 112, prompted an immediate response from the Hannover Fire Department and the rescue service.

According to the Fire Department's initial report, the fire was located in a kitchen on the sixth floor of an apartment. The fire department dispatched two fire engines and the rescue service to the scene, and a total of 36 personnel were involved in the operations.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but not without effort. A total of 16 vehicles from the fire department and rescue service were utilised, and high-pressure fans were employed to ventilate the apartment and remove remaining smoke after the fire was extinguished.

Sadly, one person, a 90-year-old tenant, was found during the firefighting efforts and was handed over to the rescue service for treatment and transport to a Hannover clinic. The individual sustained only light injuries.

The scene was later handed over to the police for further investigation, and the fire department cannot provide any information on the cause of the fire at this time. The department is also unable to disclose the extent of the damage at present.
