Fire Breaks Out in Residential Building, Multiple People Rescued

In the small town of Hattingen, emergency services were called into action once again, this time in response to an automatic fire alarm at a local clinic that went off at 18:58. The alarm, it turned out, was a false one.

The incident began when the Hattingen Fire Department received a call at 17:32 from residents in Blankenstein about a heavily smoked apartment with a possible occupant. The news was originally transmitted by Feuerwehr Hattingen via news aktuell.

Upon arrival, a team in breathing apparatus entered through the stairwell, and another team gained access to the apartment. The apartment was found to be empty after neighbors checked via the balcony, but emergency services needed to verify. Upon entering the apartment, it was confirmed that no one was inside.

Meanwhile, a separate team turned off the stove and conducted a final check of the apartment. It was discovered that burnt food was found on the stove, which a neighbor had previously removed. The full-time fire engine, the middle and north fire engines, the protective equipment units from Oberbredenscheid and Niederwenigern, the rescue service, the leading emergency doctor, and the organizational leader of the rescue service were alerted due to the initial report.

The head of the rescue service station in Hattingen that was alerted before the fire department was sent to another operation is Tobias Dehner. The attached images may be used with the credit "Feuerwehr Hattingen".

Upon completion of their actions, the apartment was handed over to the resident who had arrived. It was a false alarm, but the quick response of the emergency services ensured the safety of the residents and the clinic.
