Fire near Lake Elsinore forces evacuations, named "Crump Fire"

In the heart of Riverside County, a moderately growing vegetation fire, known as the Crump Fire, broke out on Saturday afternoon in the Lake Elsinore area. The blaze, which quickly spread across about 55 acres, was met with a swift response from local authorities and firefighters.

By 4 p.m., more than 150 firefighters were assigned to combat the Crump Fire. Multiple water-dropping aircraft were also deployed to help contain the flames. The firefighters worked tirelessly to prevent the fire from reaching homes on the southern side of SR-74.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported due to the Crump Fire, and no damages to structures were reported either. Evacuation orders were issued due to the fire on Saturday, but hours later, they were lifted.

The cause of the Crump Fire remains undetermined, with the authority yet to release an official statement on the matter.

In response to the evacuation orders, an animal evacuation shelter was set up at the San Jacinto Animal Shelter, located at 581 S. Grand Street in San Jacinto. An evacuation shelter was also established at Pinacate Middle School, situated at 1900 S. A. Street in Perris.

As of 8 p.m., authorities reported that the fire was 95% contained. The brave efforts of the firefighters ensured that the Crump Fire did not cause any significant harm to the community.
