Fire suspects assault kiosk employees

A small shop in Cologne-Bocklemünd was the target of a suspected arson attack on the night of September 5th-6th. The incident, which occurred at the shop's entrance door, has left the area's criminal investigation team, led by Criminal Commissioner 15, actively investigating the case.

According to the latest reports, a group of young troublemakers verbally harassed and threw stones at the lone employee, a 52-year-old, before setting fire to the shop's entrance door. One youth, wearing black clothing and a black cap, allegedly reached through the service window, grabbed the cash drawer, and threw it at the employee. The cash drawer was later found to be empty.

The cashier, who managed to remain calm in the face of danger, noticed a fire at the rear, single door of the shop a few minutes later. With quick thinking, the cashier was able to force the door open from the inside and extinguish the flames, preventing further damage to the shop.

Regrettably, the police have not yet made any arrests in connection with the incident.
