Firefighter's Association in North Rhine-Westphalia (VdF NRW) network diversity segment to partake in the Cologne Pride Parade on July 9, 2023
On Sunday, July 9, 2023, the Association of Firefighters in North Rhine-Westphalia (VdF NRW) will make a significant impact at the Cologne Pride parade with approximately 65 members of their Network Diversity taking part.
Andreas Kirchharz, the project coordinator of the "Network Diversity" within the VdF NRW, expressed his pride and gratitude for the wide acceptance of their work. He is particularly pleased with the participation of 65 firefighters from various locations in North Rhine-Westphalia in the parade.
The parade, expected to be attended by around 1.5 million people, will see more than 230 groups participating, both on foot and on vehicles. The VdF NRW network will be accompanied by emergency vehicles provided by the fire departments of Cologne and Gelsenkirchen.
Susanne Stupp, the current mayor of the city of Frechen, will be an honorary guest among the firefighters active in the network. The guest of honour of the fire brigade in the Diversity network of the Association of Firefighters in North Rhine-Westphalia at the CSD parade in Cologne on this day will be Sina Trinkwalder.
The firefighters have stated that "a little wet fun must be" during the parade, and to ensure this, the company Dönges, a leading system supplier for firefighting equipment, will provide ten water extinguishing bags for the emergency forces to create a "wet and cheerful atmosphere" during the parade. The water extinguishing bags will be filled with water and ready for the firefighters to provide refreshing moments for the audience on the street side.
The "Network Diversity" within the VdF NRW is pleased to be able to represent the diversity within the fire departments across the country during the parade. The participants, representing the diverse makeup of fire departments, will cross the Deutz bridge and end near the cathedral.
