On Saturday, May 17, 2025, a house fire occurred in the Rellingen district of Egenbuettel, Pinneberg. The incident took place at 02:19 AM on Ahornweg.

The fire department, along with units from Ellerbek and Halstenbek, were called in to provide support. A total of 90 volunteers from the fire department were involved in the operation. The fire was initially ablaze in the conservatory of the house upon the arrival of the first emergency services.

Despite swift action, the flames spread to parts of the house and significantly damaged the roof. To effectively combat hotspots, the roof had to be opened from both the inside and outside. A turntable ladder was used to open the roof for firefighting purposes.

The emergency services and police were also present at the scene. The firefighting efforts were extremely challenging due to the building’s structure and the advanced stage of the fire. Despite the challenges, the fire was eventually brought under control.

The residents of the house had escaped to safety before the fire department arrived. However, the 90 firefighters were initially unharmed but were taken to a hospital for precautionary checks. The Red Cross provided catering for the firefighters at the scene.

The extent of the damage is still unknown at this time. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but the police have begun investigating the incident.
