Fleeing drunk driver reported by Polish authorities
In the quiet town of Brilon, a shocking incident occurred on the night of July 23, 2025, at around 11 PM. A loud noise was heard at the intersection of Antfelder Straße, Elmerborg, and Steinbergstraße, where vehicle parts were scattered at a traffic island near the town exit towards Antfeld.
Upon investigation, the Hochsauerlandkreis Police Department discovered a heavily damaged car with a 31-year-old Ukrainian man from Drolshagen still inside. The man was found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. As a result, his driver's license was confiscated, and a blood sample was taken from him.
Unfortunately, the driver had fled the scene before the police arrived. However, a trail of liquid was discovered leading in the direction of Antfeld, suggesting the direction of the man's escape. Two traffic signs were also found torn down at the same intersection.
The name of the man has not been publicly disclosed, but Benedikt Teutenberg, the contact person at the Hochsauerlandkreis Police Department, can be reached for further inquiries. His contact number is 0291-9020-1140, and his email address is [email protected]. The media is encouraged to contact Benedikt Teutenberg for more information regarding this incident.
The police department has transmitted this information via news aktuell, urging drivers to be cautious and responsible on the roads. This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of drinking and driving and the importance of obeying traffic laws.
