Following his arm injury, Gnabry is geared up for action against Northern Ireland.
The German football team is gearing up for their second World Cup qualifier, as they prepare to face Northern Ireland in Cologne on Sunday at 20:45 CET. This comes after a disappointing start to the qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup, with a 0:2 defeat against Slovakia in Bratislava.
Julian Nagelsmann, the coach of the German team, will have Serge Gnabry available for the match against Northern Ireland. Despite suffering an injury during the first half of the previous match against Slovakia, Gnabry wore an arm brace in the second half and will be fit to play in Cologne. Gnabry had previously sustained a fracture of the left ulna two years ago in a DFB-Pokal match for Bayern against Preussen Munster.
Niclas Fuellkrug, however, will not be playing in the match due to an injury. Maximilian Beier has been added to the German squad as a replacement for Fuellkrug, called up due to the striker's muscular problem in his left calf.
The match against Northern Ireland will be broadcast on RTL. The final training session for the match is scheduled for 16:30 CET.
The German Football Association has confirmed that Gnabry will be fit to play, ensuring that the team has a key player back in their ranks. With Nagelsmann at the helm, the team will be looking to bounce back from their opening loss and secure a much-needed victory against Northern Ireland.
The match promises to be an exciting one, with both teams eager to make a strong statement in the World Cup qualifiers. Fans can tune in to RTL on Sunday to catch all the action.
