Following his arm injury, Gnabry is now fully prepared to take action against Northern Ireland.
In preparation for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Northern Ireland, the German national team is gearing up for their final training session at the Cologne stadium. The session is scheduled for 4:30 PM CET.
Coach Julian Nagelsmann is leading the team as they prepare for this crucial match, which is part of the qualifying campaign for the 2026 World Cup. However, the team faces a setback as one of their key players, Serge Gnabry, has been injured.
During the match against Slovakia, Gnabry sustained an injury to his left arm in the first half. He bravely played through the pain during the second half, wearing an arm brace. The nature of the injury is yet to be confirmed, although it's not clear if it is related to the left ulna fracture he suffered two years ago during a DFB-Pokal match for Bayern against Preußen Münster, for which he had to undergo surgery.
In light of Gnabry's injury, a promising young talent has been called up as a replacement. Maximilian Beier, a 22-year-old forward who transferred to Borussia Dortmund in 2024, has been selected to join the team. Beier has been impressing in the Bundesliga and has recently been called up as a replacement for the injured Niclas Füllkrug.
The match against Northern Ireland is set to take place, but the exact date and location are yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, despite the injury, the German Football Association and coach Nagelsmann have confirmed that Gnabry will be available for the match.
As the team continues their preparations, the focus remains on overcoming the challenges and securing a victory in the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Northern Ireland.
