Following his victory at the US Open, tennis player Carlos Alcaraz will not participate in the Davis Cup match against Denmark.

The Davis Cup matches between Spain and Denmark, scheduled to take place from October 15 to 18, will not feature the current world number one, Carlos Alcaraz, or his fellow top-ranked player, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

Instead, Spain will be represented by Roberto Carballes Baena, who is currently ranked 109th, and Pablo Carreno Busta and Marcel Granollers. Carballes Baena will play in the match previously given to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, while Pablo Carreno Busta and Marcel Granollers will also participate in the matches against Denmark.

Jaume Munar, currently ranked 37th, will step in for Carlos Alcaraz in the match against Denmark's Holger Rune. Munar's participation ensures that Spain's team will remain strong, despite the absence of their top players.

Interestingly, the Davis Cup matches will precede the Six Kings Slam exhibition tournament, which is scheduled from October 15 to 18. There is a possibility that the new world number one could participate in this tournament as a replacement, should he choose to do so.

Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz is expected to participate in the Laver Cup, which will be held from September 19 to 21 in San Francisco, California. After the Laver Cup, he could potentially compete in the ATP 500 tournament in Tokyo as a replacement, since Carlos Alcaraz will be absent from this event. The ATP 500 tournament in Tokyo is scheduled from September 24 to 30, and it is also worth noting that the Davis Cup matches are scheduled to take place before this tournament.

The new world number one could also participate in the Masters 1000 tournament in Shanghai from October 1 to 12. However, the Davis Cup matches are scheduled to take place before the Shanghai Masters, ensuring that even if Carlos Alcaraz decides to participate in both events, he will have to manage his schedule carefully.

This change in the Spanish team for the Davis Cup matches against Denmark is a significant development, as it marks the absence of two of Spain's top players. However, with the strong performances of players like Roberto Carballes Baena, Pablo Carreno Busta, Marcel Granollers, and Jaume Munar, Spain still stands a good chance in the upcoming matches.
