New Cordless Planer HLC 82 Impresses with Performance, Versatility, and Ergonomics

Festool is set to release a new addition to its tool lineup, the cordless planer HLC 82, scheduled for availability from October 2025. This innovative tool is designed for precise adjustments on construction sites and in workshops, and it has been making waves in the industry for its impressive features.

Product Manager at Festool, Pordi Kailer, has stated that the new cordless planer HLC 82 impresses with perfect performance, versatility, and ergonomics. The HLC 82 boasts a cutting depth adjustment range of 0 to 2.5 mm, ensuring precision in various applications.

The HLC 82 is equipped with two dust extraction channels: one for vacuum cleaners and one for high chip removal, making it suitable for a wide range of materials and projects. Its parallel stop, which can be mounted on the side, ensures accurate guidance when working on edges, further enhancing its precision.

The new planer features a quick brake that stops the device in less than two seconds, ensuring safety during operation. The HLC 82's spiral blade with a pulling cut approaches diagonally and gently removes wood, providing a uniform, fine surface without visible planer marks.

The HLC 82 has a planer width of 82 mm and a maximum folding depth of 25 mm, making it suitable for a variety of tasks. The newly developed chamfering sole on the HLC 82 enables precise and fast chamfering of long beams or cant timbers. Three integrated 90-degree V-grooves in the planer sole facilitate chamfering of work pieces such as boards and beams.

The HLC 82's ergonomically shaped handle has a softgrip surface for comfortable handling, and the tool is compatible with all Festool 18-volt battery packs. The feedback for the new cordless planer HLC 82 has been consistently positive, praising its performance, versatility, and ergonomics.

Before market launch, the HLC 82 was intensively tested by the trade, and it will be exhibited at the NordBau as a co-exhibitor with Friedrich Niemann GmbH & Co. KG, North Entrance - N231, Kieler Straße. If you're interested in learning more about the HLC 82, be sure to visit Festool at the NordBau exhibition.
