In Botetourt County, Virginia, on Monday, a dramatic incident unfolded on Roanoke Road, involving a small, black cow that had made its way onto the busy road. The cow, potentially posing a danger to motorists, especially on the nearby Interstate 81, was pursued by an Animal Control officer from the Botetourt County Sheriff's Office.

The incident was captured on video by Friends of Botetourt K9, providing a front-row view of the cow's struggle and the subsequent efforts of Deputy Christian Pifer to secure the situation. In the video, the cow veers off the shoulder of the road, stumbling in the ditch before Deputy Pifer successfully executes a tackle maneuver to bring the animal down.

Witnesses were on hand to observe the dramatic scene, with the cow's struggle depicted clearly in the video. Despite the intense nature of the incident, no injuries or accidents were reported during the event.

The cow was eventually removed from the road, thanks to the quick actions of Deputy Pifer. This incident serves as a reminder of the important work that law enforcement and Animal Control officers perform daily, ensuring the safety of both animals and the public.
